  1. Well, here we go! Thank you for all the support that you have given me so far, I know that it is the reason everything I packed fit so well. I just finished packing (its 12:04 right now), and we were concerned that not everything would fit. I am very excited to see where the Holy Spirit leads me and what he teaches me this trip. Please pray that everyone on the team has good health and learns what the Holy Spirit is teaching them through the trip. I am looking forward to seeing a night sky without the street lights around. I have never seen a night sky without light around me. I am also looking forward to learning a greater appreciation for my things. I am looking forward to getting more of a grasp on just how much God has given me and I hope that it will increase my generosity. Please pray that everyone stays safe, for travel to go smoothly, and that God’s work is done through us.

  3. Tim, I know this first day has been a long travel day with a long layover and then delay. Proverbs 16:9 “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” God’s got his plans for this trip and I know they are good. Whatever happens, it will be for your good. Love you!!!

  10. Hey everyone, sorry for not posting yesterday. It has been super busy here. However, I am being blessed by the ability to sleep good and I have plenty of energy to do the work set before me. I managed to nap on the airport layover, and have slept really really well at night. A God sighting I have is that I am prone to motion sickness and haven’t felt sick at all this week. Between two flights, and very bumpy rides in the mountains in the back of a van in the heat I have not even felt a hint of motion sickness. I am really healthy, and God is keeping me energized and equipped for his work. A house that wasn’t there yesterday morning is now finished and painted with 4 Bible verses. We all had input in the verses and I put up Revelation 3:20 “Behold,! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. We were encouraged to put a Bible verse on each wall in order to surround them with scripture.
There was concern about rain while we were building and hindering our progress, so we prayed against rain. However, the villagers here were praying for rain because of the general lack of it. God answered both by having it rain during the night last night and after we were done building today. He knows what all of us need, and he waited until we had weatherproofed and roofed the houses before having it rain hard. THANK YOU LORD! Also, we had a little more time today to play with the local kids. I was able to give them candy, throw a frisbee, and attempt to use my two years of high school Spanish that I got two years ago to communicate. It was so much fun! Also today one of the kids pointed out a rainbow that was a full circle around the sun. It was absolutely amazing! I had never seen anything like that. I am very excited to see what else God has in store for me.
Last night for group devotions we focused on blind Bartimaeus receiving his sight found in Mark 10:46-52. We looked particularly at verse 51 which has the question “What do you want me to do for you?” from Jesus to the beggar. I realized that I do not know the answer to that question right now, and am praying to find the answer. Please pray that I can find the answer that God wants me to have and that I can grow closer to Jesus throughout the whole week.
Tomorrow we are dedicating the houses. This involves praying over the space with the people, and inviting them to accept Christ into their hearts. Please pray that their hearts are open and inviting.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support this week. I know that they are helping us and equipping us to do the work we are doing.
PS. Most of the food is made with corn hear instead of wheat so I am having absolutely no trouble eating enough.
PPS. Nicole put corn rows in my hair and I did get a picture. I can’t wait to see you all!
