  8. What a great day of building today. We got in 3 hours late due to a storm. So very late night and early rise to work. Amazing Worship time last night, our first as a group. Yes Anya did pic #33/ El Poder Tu De Amore. A tear jerker for me, as its the song Dan plays on the alter call during the Med clinics. That song always reminds of the Guatemala people coming forward to give there life to Christ. Also read the words, so fitting for that moment. This trip is such a reminder to how we are suppose to be spending time with God. A very hard working trip, but sooooo very rewarding. Much more than anything i have ever done in my life. Its amazing to see others see God in a new way in there life here. Please pray for our team as we dedicate the homes tomorrow. So far no sickness, and no one died when i drove the van today. ( Except for Ben who was complaining about hitting his head on the ceiling of the van ). Thanks for the prayers. Hoping to see if i can find my friend Aldena in her village tomorrow.. Blessing, Alan

  9. Hola Alan,
Sounds like things have been going well so far. That’ s good news. Everything is going well at home, so enjoy your trip and all the amazing things that I know will happen while you’re there. You said this was a very hard working trip. Could it be due to the fact that you are just a bit older than when you first started going down there? Haha Praying for you, the group and the people you will come in contact with that each day you will see God working in unexpected ways. May hearts and lives be changed for eternity. Hope you get to see Aldena and I’m sure you are practicing your Al Spanish. Love you! Sheri

  11. Dedication day was awesome and all the families gave their life to Christ. The Guatemalans shot off loud fireworks before and after every dedication. Their homes were all decorated as well. They laid fresh pine needles all over for us to walk on and hung balloons on their homes. This is something I have never seen in all my time in Guatemala. You could tell they were really excited about the dedication day. My family (Gonzal, Marta, and Keli) were very excited and the mother broke down while we shared our testimonies.

My God sighting of the day was seeing Aldena on the side of the road by her village on the way home to the base. I got a little bit of a surprise when I saw her carrying a baby. I am a grandpa for a second time πŸ™‚ I am looking forward to Monday when I take Aldena and her baby to go shopping in Antigua. Yes Sheri, I did say I am going shopping!

Thanks all for your prayers, keep them coming!
    Blessings,
    Alan

  13. Hey All, just getting ready to go to Group time devotions. Really exciting to see how God is working in the kids lives. Really touching to see the break down of the lives being changed here. This is such a refreshing experience for me. I so easily get side track back home. The devil is at work here trying to alter the course we are set on. Pray that we will focus on him, not ourself and our needs. Pray for our 3 1/2 hour drive one way to our first Med Clinic. Also pray for those who are being called to give there testimony in the village tonight. Thanks for the continued prayers back home. Love. Alan

I was hoping you would get to see Aldena & then to see her along side the road. A God sighting for sure. Hard to believe she has a baby already but not unusual for Guatemala. I’m sure she was so excited to see you. Can’t wait to hear about your shopping day with her. That will be very special to get to spend time like that with her. What an amazing dedication day. It sounds like there was so much joy to be had by everyone and to know that every family gave their life to Christ is so awesome. Prayer for safety getting to the medical villages and for their hearts to be changed. Enjoy your last day there.
